Probiotic Foods for a Healthy Gut
Probiotic Foods for a Healthy Gut
What do fermented foods like kefir, kimchi, and kombucha have in common? They’re chockablock with friendly bacteria known as probiotics, which according to Harvard Medical School, may help prevent and treat digestive disorders. How do the tiny microorganisms do it? Well, it turns out that your gut has good and bad bacteria. An unhealthy diet, illness, and medications, like antibiotics, can cause the good bacteria to die, throwing off the balance in your gut. Probiotics help to get your digestive system back on track by replacing the good bacteria and restoring harmony in your gut. Picture a well-balanced see-saw.
Probiotic foods can taste good too!
