A Little Bit About Modest Coffee

Modest Coffee Roasters was founded locally in 2013 by husband and wife team Jenni and Marcus Contaldo. They discovered their love for high-quality, single-origin coffee at a farmer’s market in Brookfield, IL, and before long, their interest became a hobby, the hobby became a passion, and the passion became a coffee roasting business! Modest coffees are unique because they are always crafted with beans from a single source, rather than a blend of beans. Their coffees are categorized in flavor “tiers” ranging from the Modest medium-bodied tier, to the fuller-bodied Dark tier, to the Enthusiast and Collector tiers, which are lighter-bodied and showcase more unexpected or nuanced flavors. Modest coffees are seasonally and sustainably sourced. The higher wages farmers and processors receive from their single origin approach also allows for a greater positive impact in their surrounding communities and brings in more money for building schools, infrastructure, and filling other local community needs.
